Villa Caletas for Sunset

We like to highlight fun things to do in Costa Rica When staying in Jaco. If you're staying in Jaco or surrounding areas, check out Villa Caletas just 25 mins north of Herradura. Set up on a hill with the best sunset on the Pacific coast, happy hour drink specials, beautiful pool and grounds, and friendly crowds, you can't go wrong whether it's with the family or just for couples and the sunset happy hour.

Jaco is a great place for happy hours, and the coming of Croc's Casino and resort will add to the venue of things to do before dinner while enjoying a great sunset from your beachfront hotel.

The increased safety in Jaco Beach has led to development of safe, family-oriented hotels.

With casinos, entertainment and fun activities continue to draw tourists by the thousands in this small town near San Jose and right on the beach in the Central Pacific of Costa Rica. With unbelievable sunsets, a safe system of public roads and police force, Jaco is a great place to vacation and find nice hotels in walking distance or beachfront.

Have you heard Jaco Beach was nominate for an international Travel Award? This one sleepy fishing village is now a bustling tourist paradise. Most people find the variety of places to eat, stay and be entertained, more than sufficient.

Having a hotel-casino can be an added benefit, in that you can enjoy the comfort of home while being entertained. This concept has traditionally been popular up north in Tamarindo, and other areas like Jaco, but here is one hotel and Casino that's going to offer the perfect combination of entertainment and accommodation, in a beachfront hotel in Costa Rica.

Visiting Costa Rica in high season, it can be difficult to find a place to stay last minute. Here are some of our favorites for January.

Best Western Hotel on the main road, across from the bus stop. Expect to pay $70 per night or more per person in high season, but the facilities clean with a nice pool and is beachfront.

On the south side of town you can find a number of copying us, the south end of jaco, always more Tranquill and quiet evening in high season. Some of these cabinas are $40 or $50 a night, they are not as clean or touristy but a decent value.

At the north end of town you will find some of the nicer beachfront condos, including the Palms, Diamante del Sol and others. These are nearby the construction site for crocs Casino resort, a new project going up in Jaco.

Jaco Beach is full of hotels, there is a large variety of places to stay when visiting Costa Rica in the Central Pacific. If you want reviews of hotels you can easily find them on Trip Advisor and Expedia. The airport at Juan Santamaria in San Jose is usually the primary means of arrival for most visitors. From there it's a quick shot down route 27, the new highway, to route 34, which is the "Costanera Highway". The Costanera is a well-paved road, and provides easy travel around Costa Rica and the Central Pacific.

There are a number of projects in the Jaco area, including Daystar, Los Suenos and others. One new projects is Croc's Casino Resort which will offer a Las-Vegas style casino and beachfront condos as well as full hotel with 152 rooms, and world-class restaurants.

The hotel will feature beach access, a white-sand beach installed by the owners and operators of Croc's, and much more. Check out an interview with Rory Hascall, Chief Operations Officer of Croc's Casino Resort.
